Murphys Irish Day
Saturday, March 15, 2008

Come to Murphys, Queen of the Sierra, where everyone is Irish once a year! Join in celebrating Murphys important Irish heritage with the biggest rush since the Gold Rush. Strangers become friends as they proclaim "Kiss me, I'm Irish" and join in singing and laughing. There will be day long entertainment for the entire family throughout the historic and quaint town of Murphys, with free admission and new activities and fun.

Visitors will have a delicious assortment of traditional and fun Irish cuisine, Calaveras wines and local breweries to enjoy as Irish tenors croon traditional folk songs and toes are tappin' to great Irish music. You're invited to join groups of dancers as they jig down the Main Street and the Princess from Ireland, escorted by the Highland Warriors - Kingdom of Gael.

Highlighted by the annual Hometown Parade, visit the Silent Auction, over 100 fine arts & crafts vendors, participating merchants and take a chance on winning a "Trip for Two to Ireland!" Truly a home-town event, enjoyed by thousands of visitors every year with the 'wearin' of the green'.

Come join us for a jolly good time and remember -- Think Irish!
